• Syntek Semiconductor announces the first Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11b/g combo USB dongle chip, STK9100
    Syntek Semiconductor Co. adopted the BlueW Software Radio technology from one partnership wireless solution company, 3DSP, and has developed the first Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR and 802.11b/g USB combo baseband chip in the world. This solution can totally solves the RF interference issues between Bluetooth and WiFi on board. The easy plug and play USB interface can offer users the most friendly connection experience and provides the most competitive BOM and manufacturing cost to system makers to acquire both Bluetooth and WiFi technologies. Based on 3DSP¡¦s software radio DSP technology, Syntek will introduce 802.11n products in the 4th quarter, 2008. STK9100¡¦s Bluetooth uses the same RF transceiver as WiFi paves the way to new Bluetooth v 3.0 over WiFi specified in the end of 2008. Syntek will announce the Bluetooth v3.0 product thereafter. In the most popular mobile GPS feature, Syntek plans to combine it with Bluetooth and WiFi technologies in the same board to offer users the most complete wireless connection at optimized cost and efficiency.
